How to Measure Yourself for a Bridal Veil

Traditional Style Bridal Veils:
  1. Take a piece of string (or ribbon) and place one end of it at the spot where you plan to place the comb of your veil
  2. Let the string drape down in the back
  3. Take into account your hairstyle, headpiece, and gown fullness as the veil length will be taken up by those things as well
  4. Cut the string at the point where you would like the bridal veil to end
  5. Measure the string with a ruler to determine the length you need
Drop Veil Styles:
  1. Take a piece of string (or ribbon) and place one end of it in front where you want your blusher to end
  2. Drape the string over your head and let it fall in the back
  3. Take into account your hairstyle, headpiece, and gown fullness as these things will reduce the veil length
  4. Cut the string at the point where you would like the Drop Veil to end
  5. Measure the string with a ruler to get the total length needed
  6. Veils less than 90" in total length will be in a circular shape
  7. Veils greater than 90" in total length will be in an oval shape, as the fabric is not wide enough to accommodate the longer length
Don't get too caught up in trying to get an exact measurement.  Keep in mind that a veil is so light and airy that it never stays in one place.  A measurement within a few inches is usually all that's needed.

If our standard lengths don't work for you, use our Custom Quote form to request a price.  Veil prices are based on overall length as well as edge length, but there is usually no extra charge for custom orders!
